What’s A Great Cardio Workout Besides Running?

This is a great question! A lot of people think they have to learn to like running to get a great cardio session.

If you don’t like to run or if you can’t run (injuries, pain, etc)… don’t. There are several great options.

Swimming is one great option and what I’m currently doing for my cardio sessions. It’s gentle on the joints and an amazing total body workout.

If swimming is something you want to start with, here’s what I recommend grabbing:

– A good swim suite
– Googles (I have these)
– Swim Cap to keep your hair healthy!
– Ear plugs
-Shower flip flops

Another fantastic cardio workout is lifting weights through metcon style workouts… high intensity training!

There is nothing like sweating, huffing and puffing and having your muscles burn from a solid workout.

How Did My Body Respond To Getting Off Keto?

If you missed it, listen to episode #179 regarding how my body responded to 8 weeks on the Keto Diet (and the why’s).

Now, how has it been getting off it? My body reacted just fine to be honest.

There were a few days about a week after I stopped the keto diet where my bathroom habits were a bit off, but overall nothing too drastic.

For the most part, I’ve stayed low carb. Not keto low carb, but low carb. No alcohol during the week, max of 2 drinks on the weekends, no grains, etc.

Basically, I’m back to eating my paleo-ish diet. It’s what my body feels best with.

I haven’t been perfect, though. And that’s good! It took a week or so to let go of the “how many carbs does that have!?” mentality but I’ve gotten there.

I had a chocolate chip cookie this week, have tested a few donuts (we just got a Duck Donuts here in Charleston) and have loved NOT tracking my food.

But body wise… no weight gain, energy issues or bowl problems to report!

If I Can Only Do 1 Arm Exercise, What Would It Be?

So generic and definitely not a surprise, but pull-ups for sure!

Pull-ups are my jam and if they were the only move I could do, it would be fun to see how high I could get my reps!

Favorite Season?

Fall for sure! I love the coolness in the air and the leaves. We don’t have much of a fall here but I LOVE going to the mountains in October to see the leaves changing. It’s beautiful. And it’s warm enough to still do things voluntarily outside! ha.

How Long Have Dan & I Been Together?

This month is 8 years of marriage! It’s crazy to think. Sometimes it feels like a lifetime and other times it feels like we were married yesterday.

But we’ve been together for over 13 years and have lived together for 12 years (We moved in together Sept 2006)… again crazy!

How long have you been with your significant other?
